Shiitake Mushroom Powder for Unctuous Flavor


 Several years ago I began using Mushroom Powder as a seasoning.  I found dried Shiitake Mushrooms at my favorite Asian market.  I brought them home and ground them into a fine powered with my spice grinder.  I soon realized the versatility of the product.  I add this powder to soups to create a deep beefy full flavor, as well as meats and fish.  I recently read this  article in the Washington Post about it.


Try it on your steaks with salt and pepper.  You too will find this seasoning sneaking onto your shelf and being used again and again.
